Goal record in Villach
EC Grand Immo VSV and Moser Medical Graz99ers delivered a goal spectacle in the 14th round with the better end for the Carinthian hosts. In the 9:7 victory of the Eagles, 16 goals were scored in one game for the first time this season. Fans of the bet-at-home ICE Hockey League were last able to celebrate this number of goals on 19.2.2017 - at that time EC Red Bull Salzburg prevailed against visiting HC Innsbruck. The last time the Villach team scored nine goals was on 3.12.2013 - in a 9:3 victory over HCI. Today, Friday, Anton Karlsson took the lead for the first time in the sixth minute. The Styrians still equalized in the first period before everything seemed to go for the Villach team. Three goals en suite by Renars Krastenberg in the second and third period respectively brought the interim 8:4 and the supposed preliminary decision. However, Graz fought back to 7:8 before Hughes ensured the decision with an empty netter. With this success, Villach reduced the gap to the top-6 to one point.

Caps, Foxes, Ljubljana and Salzburg with home wins
The spusu Vienna Capitals celebrated a 3:2 victory over HC Tesla Orli Znojmo and took revenge for the first "East derby" defeat in September. This was the perfect start to the first of three home games in the next six days. With the fifth win from the last six games, the Caps improved to tenth place in the standings. In Friday's encounter, the Viennese were behind twice before Nicolai Meyer provided the game-winner in the 37th minute.

The Hungarians got the better start and defended their 1-0 lead from the 5th to the 43rd minute. Three goals from the South Tyroleans within six minutes in the final period put the Foxes on the winning track.

HK SZ Olimpija Ljubljana remains the measure of all things this season in the bet-at-home ICE Hockey League. The league newcomer from Slovenia scored three late goals against Steinbach Black Wings Linz to extend their lead in the standings to eight points. The Upper Austrians, on the other hand, had to take over the red lantern again after their fourth defeat in a row.

EC Red Bull Salzburg had to go overtime for the seventh time this season. The Bulls celebrated their fifth win of the season after overtime against HC Pustertal.
