HC TIWAG Innsbruck recorded a full success in the direct duel for the pre-playoff places with HC Pustertal and is again among the top-10 teams of the bet-at-home ICE Hockey League. In the only duel between two top-6 teams, EC Grand Immo VSV celebrated a victory over HK SZ Olimpija Ljubljana, leaving the Slovenians behind them in the standings. EC-KAC, meanwhile, was able to continue its "Viennese run of success". In the most exciting game of the round, the KAC beat the spusu Vienna Capitals in a shootout. This was the fifth consecutive KAC win in Vienna among the seasons.

Salzburg promptly victorious again
EC Red Bull Salzburg promptly bounced back after their last defeat against the Dornbirn Bulldogs. The superior league leader celebrated a 3:1 home victory in the duel with HC Tesla Orli Znojmo - which was all about Wings for Life, the foundation for spinal cord research. The Czechs, who are weak away from home - with 0.88 points per away game, only Linz has an even weaker record - kept the game open for a long time today, Tuesday. This was mainly due to the fact that goalkeeper Dominik Groh saved 59 shots. Despite the superiority of Salzburg, it was a late brace by Ty Loney in the final period that brought the decision. Znojmo slipped back to ninth place in the table as a result of the defeat.

KAC extends streak in away games in Vienna
The EC-KAC obviously feels comfortable in Vienna. Across the seasons, the KAC won for the fifth time in a row in the Austrian capital, and Klagenfurt even scored in Vienna for the ninth time in a row. The Caps, who returned to championship action after a ten-day break, made it anything but easy for the Klagenfurters. Despite having to give up two of their best scorers in Nicolai Meyer (Olympic participation with Denmark) and Brody Sutter (lower body injury), the hosts took the lead in the first period. After the KAC equalized in the middle period, however, the Caps again went ahead in the third. Just under two minutes before the supposed end, Lukas Haudum shot his team into overtime after all. After a scoreless overtime, Thomas Hundertpfund finally made the decision in the penalty shootout.

Linz ends losing streak
In the duel of the two stragglers of the bet-at-home ICE Hockey League, Steinbach Black Wings Linz were able to end their four-game losing streak. The 3-0 win also extended a positive streak for the Upper Austrians, who are now unbeaten in four games at Messestadion across the seasons. The Bulldogs, who have been strong of late with victories over Klagenfurt and Salzburg, went scoreless for the first time in their last 16 games. Despite the commanding win, the Bulldogs remain out of reach in the standings.

Innsbruck pushes Pustertal out of top 10
HC TIWAG celebrated a clear victory in the important direct duel for one of the coveted pre-playoff places. Before this game, HC Pustertal was still in tenth place and the Sharks just behind them, which would mean an early end of the season. With the 6:3 win, the Sharks pushed the South Tyroleans out of the top-10. For the Wolves, it was already the second "zero" after a six-game point streak. The Innsbruckers, on the other hand, who last played four away games, made a successful comeback on home ice. An early one-two - there were just 14 seconds between the first and second goal - put the Tyroleans on the road to success early on. By the end of the second period, Mitch O'Keefe's team had increased its lead to 5:2, but the Wolves were unable to get back into the game and were eventually defeated 3:6. Mike Huntebringer laced a brace for the Tyroleans and extended his scoring streak to eight games.

Bolzano successful again after two defeats
HCB Südtirol Alperia was able to record a full success again after a pointless road trip with defeats in Hungary and the Czech Republic. The South Tyroleans won 5:2 against the Moser Medical Graz99ers and climbed back to third place in the table. The Foxes were able to score for the fifth time in a row in their home town - for the third time with the full score. The Styrians, on the other hand, suffered their third defeat in their last four games and slipped to tenth place in the table. Today, the hosts were more efficient from the start and already led 2:0 after the first period. Lukas Kainz scored the equalizer in the middle third. But the South Tyrolean goalkeeper Kevin Boyle acted too confidently to turn the game around. The 99ers finally had to admit defeat with 2:5. Domenico Alberga scored a brace for HCB.

VSV overtakes Ljubljana
EC Grand Immo VSV celebrated a full success in the only duel between two top-6 teams. For the fourth and for the time being last time the team from Villach crossed the sticks with HK SZ Olimpija. For the second time the Carinthians celebrated a full success and overtook the Slovenians in the table. The Eagles earned a 2-0 advantage in the first period today (Tuesday). After a goalless middle period, the guests increased the lead to 3:0 before the Dragons managed to connect within 30 seconds. Maximilian Rebernig answered promptly and provided the final decision for the Villacher, who could climb to the fifth place in the table. Already tomorrow, Wednesday, the Eagles receive HC Tesla Orli Znojmo.
