The HC TIWAG Innsbruck - Die Haie has secured a good starting position for the second leg of the round of 16 in the Champions Hockey League: At home, the only remaining participant of the win2day ICE Hockey League wrestled a 2-2 draw from top Finnish club Lukko Rauma. The Finns got off to a strong start, showing much more agility in the first period and taking a deserved 2-0 lead through Brayden Burke (12.) and Sebastian Repo (18.).

However, the "Sharks" found their game better at the start of the second period, but had to wait a long time for the first goal and also missed an 80-second double powerplay situation around halfway through the game. Brady Shaw then scored the equalizer 15 seconds before the end of the period after a counter-attack. Innsbruck also played well with the increasingly passive Finns at times in the final period, had more of the play and Shaw (55.) added his second and sixth goal of the current CHL campaign – again on a counter-attack. The Tyroleans defended the draw in the final minutes.

The second leg in Finland will be played on November 22nd at 05:30 pm.
