In the only Tuesday game of the win2day ICE Hockey League, HC TIWAG Innsbruck managed to jump back to the top of the table. On September 25, the Sharks were last in first place, just under two months later, the Sharks took again the top position. The match against the spusu Vienna Capitals was hard-fought for 48 minutes. Innsbruck took the lead in both the first and second periods, but quickly had to concede the equalizer in each case. In the middle period, the Caps first took the lead through a brace by Niki Hartl within 18 seconds, but the Innsbruck response to make it 3:3 was not a minute in coming. Until the 49th minute the game was on a knife edge. After the lead goal of the Sharks, the Caps had the opportunity to equalize again in powerplay. Instead, the hosts scored two shorthanded goals within one minute to make it 6:3. Visibly spurred on by the preliminary decision, Innsbruck went on to win the match 9:3. Six of the goals were scored within ten minutes. Jamal Watson was directly involved in four goals. The defender scored two goals and also recorded two assists. Tyler Coulter also scored a brace.

With this success, HC TIWAG Innsbruck is back on top of the win2day ICE Hockey League for the first time since September 25. However, the chasing team Bolzano played one game less and the third-placed team Salzburg even four games less than the newly crowned leader.
