Sharks head into the break with a big win
The opening period between league leader Olimpija Ljubljana and HC TIWAG Innsbruck went according to expectations, as the Slovenians controlled the play and jumped out to an early 2–0 lead through a pair of goals from Marly Quince. Innsbruck, however, came out of the locker room as a different team, turning the game around with four goals in just over six minutes – two of them by Max Coatta. Ljubljana refused to back down, cutting the deficit to 3–4 later in the period and even netting what looked like the equalizer, which was waved off after video review due to goaltender interference. The Sharks extended their lead to 5–3 in the final frame before Olimpija launched one last push and forced overtime. Just as in regulation, Olimpija controlled most of the play in the extra frame, but Innsbruck goalie Matthew Vernon stood tall to keep his team in it. With only seconds remaining, Benjamin Corbeil buried the game-winner to secure the two points for the visitors.

Fehérvár remains in control in Feldkirch
In their first game following the departure of head coach David Kiss, Hydro Fehérvár AV19, now led on an interim basis by Tyler Dietrich, earned a commanding win against Pioneers Vorarlberg. The Hungarian side dominated from the start and took a 1–0 lead in the opening period through Justin Richards. In the second, the Red Devils capitalized on a Pioneers turnover to make it 2–0. Fehérvár then added a powerplay marker in the third period to seal a 3–0 shutout victory. While the Pioneers – who face EC-KAC tomorrow – risk spending the international break at the bottom of the standings, the Hungarians managed to cut their gap to the Top 6 down to six points.
