HC TWK Innsbruck "Die Haie" had a perfect start into the west-derby. Already after 204 seconds the Sharks scored the lead in a Power Play: Ondrej Sedivy sunk the puck into the right corner. Also in the next minutes the hosts stayed dangerous. The Dornbirn Bulldogs on the other side needed some time to find into the game. After 10 minutes also the guests threatened for the first time. The best chance for the Vorarlberger missed youngster Henrik Neubauer before the first break. Early after the re-start Innsbruck failed to take advantage from a 5-on-3 Power Play. This was an incentive for the DEC-players, but even in Power Play they could not start scoring. Better did Innsbruck, that extended their lead thanks goals from Hunter Bishop (33.) and Andrew Yogan (39.) – 3:0. In the last 20 minutes the gueste from Dornbirn suddenly showed another face and made much pressure. The Bulldogs finally were rewarded with their first goal: Matt Fraser scored in a Power Play. But Innsbruck had a quick answer and decided the game just moments later with the 4:1 from Morten Poulsen (51.). In the final minutes goalie Patrik Nechvatal and Co. defended their 4:1-home-win over DEC in the west-derby.
