Following the international break, an intense period in the win2day ICE Hockey League is about to kick off. Over the next 30 days, most teams will have a schedule packed with three games per week. This intense "ICE Time" starts Wednesday with five matchups and some notable highlights, such as the “Bring Your Hero” Night – presented by win2day – in Feldkirch or the clash between HCB Südtirol Alperia and EC iDM Wärmepumpen VSV, who showed a strong upward trend before the break.

Hydro Fehérvár AV19 – spusu Vienna Capitals
The spusu Vienna Capitals face the league leader Hydro Fehérvár. With eight wins in a row, the Hungarian squad is the hottest team in the win2day ICE Hockey League (click here for details about that). Fehérvár climbed to the top of the standings in recent weeks thanks to strong defensive play, led especially by goalie Rasmus Reijola, who shines with a 95.6% save percentage. During the international break, the Capitals made roster changes: Jason Willms and Anders Lindbäck left the team, while Joseph Cramarossa and goalie Peyton Jones joined the lineup. However, Brett Kemp and Tyler Parks are out with injuries, and Willie Raskob remains in the U.S. to attend the birth of his child. Currently in eighth place, Vienna lost the first matchup in October with a 1:4 score but now aims to challenge the league leader with a strong performance. A special focus will be on top scorer Zane Franklin and goalie Sebastian Wraneschitz, who currently boasts the best save percentage among Austrian netminders in the league.

HC TIWAG Innsbruck – Steinbach Black Wings Linz
In the first of three home games in just five days, the Innsbruck Haie welcome the Black Wings Linz. The game will be broadcast live on ORF SPORT+. The Haie used the break to work intensely on their weaknesses, especially in finishing, which was an issue in their last game against Ljubljana. They are looking to bounce back from a 1:3 home loss to Linz and plan to play more offensively. Forward Sascha Bauer, whose contract was extended through the end of the season, will continue to be a key player. In the first matchup, the Black Wings came back from a deficit to secure a win. Linz aims to keep climbing the standings, with a solid defense that ranks among the league’s best in goals against – even though top goalie Rasmus Tirronen’s save percentage still has room for improvement.

Pioneers Vorarlberg – HC Pustertal
The Pioneers Vorarlberg meet HC Pustertal after the international break. The game will feature the “Bring-Your-Hero” promotion, where season ticket holders can bring friends and family – their heroes – for free. The Pioneers face a tough challenge, as Pustertal has been racking up points in the last ten games and currently boasts the league's best offense. With forward Alex Petan, who has racked up 18 points, the “Wolves” bring impressive scoring power. Youngster of the Month Tommy Purdeller (click here for details about that) is also in top form, continuing his hot streak during the international break with Italy's national team . The Pioneers, with just three wins so far this season, are still dealing with injury problems; key players like captain Alex Pallestrang and forwards Daniel Woger and Janick Wernicke remain out. A bright spot, however, is the return of Jacob Friend to the defense. Despite their defensive struggles, the Pioneers are determined to surprise the favorites and give their home fans – and their “Heroes” – an exciting game.

Migross Supermercati Asiago Hockey – EC-KAC
At Pala Hodegart, EC-KAC faces Asiago Hockey, the only team in the win2day ICE Hockey League they haven’t played yet this season. After a weak stretch before the break that saw the “KAC” slip in the standings, the team is now returning with an almost full roster. The Klagenfurt squad needs to get back to being effective on the power play, as their last 18 power play opportunities have gone scoreless. Asiago, currently in 11th place, has shown inconsistent form and took a 2:10 loss to Villach before the break - against top teams, on the other hand, Asiago celebrates wins frequently (click here for details about that). Both teams are struggling with power play issues and are looking to improve. EC-KAC also welcomes back key players Fabian Hochegger and Raphael Herburger.

HCB Südtirol Alperia – EC iDM Wärmepumpen VSV
In a South Tyrolean showdown, HCB Südtirol Alperia hosts EC VSV at Sparkasse Arena, which is set to attract a lot of young fans with discounted tickets for “Student Night.” The “Foxes” are tied on points with league leader Fehérvár and have won 11 of their 14 games so far. However, the team has been struggling on special teams, particularly in penalty killing. VSV, after a slow start to the season, has rebounded with three consecutive wins and aims to grab points in South Tyrol as they push toward a playoff spot. The so far highlight was 10:2 win against Asiago right before the break. In this game Benjamin Lanzinger scored his first career hat-trick (click here for details about that). Villach relies on a strong power play percentage and seasoned players like John Hughes and Kevin Hancock. With goalie Sam Harvey’s 93% save percentage and balanced scoring across the lineup, the Foxes still go into this matchup as favorites, hoping to secure the points at home with a solid performance.
