Italian teams win international duels, Ritten cofirms lead

In the two international duels the Italian teams of Cortina and Gherdeina celebrated wins against the Austrian teams. In the Italian internal duel the acting champ and leader of the league Ritten booked a success against the Fassa Falcons.

EK Zeller Eisbären - S.G. Cortina Hafro 0:3 (0:1;0:2;0:0) 
The home team started with high pressure into the game. In the beginning Cortina kept the pace, but the polar bears took control after a while. Despite of many chance for the home team they couldn’t score. 60 seconds before the end of the first period the home fans celebrated for the first time, but too early. The goal of Koblar didn’t count. The guests captured the lead seconds later: Zachary Torquato scored for the 1:0 . The Eisbären kept the speed from the first period and created many chances also in the second period., but goaly De Filippo proofed his reactions and kept the zero. Torquato did a better job in converting the chances and increased to 2:0.  In the 48th minute Diego Iori scored the final goal of the game. Also in the final period Zell pressured a lot, but weren’t  able to beat De Filippo.
 
HC Fassa Falcons - Rittner Buam 3:4 (1:1; 0:2; 2:1)
With the teams still a bit slow in the beginning of the game, it arrived the first goal of the evening. The Falcons scored with Davide Schiavone who overtook Hannes Treibenreif after a good assistance from Devin Di Diomete. Then the Renon began to control the game as they put a lot of pressure towards the net of Gianni Scola. After seven minutes Simon Kostner equalized the result thanks to a diagonal shot. Fassa played in a counterattack sistem: Paolo Bustreo and Samuel Rothstein couldn’t score while Devin Di Diomete hit the post. The Renon continued to attack but the first half ended in a draw (1:1). During the second fraction Renon scored after 29 seconds thanks to Tommaso Traversa. But Fassa continued to play with an effective counter-attack while the Renon controlled again the game. Jiri Klimicek hit the post but Renon went ahead in the score thanks to Victor Ahlström's goal with a diagonal shot. Both formations continued to play openly. In the third time the Falcons shortened the distances with a touch of Di Diomete after a shot of Heikkinen in powerplay. At this point the game will reopen. The Fassa hit the crossbar with Rothstein. Just at the best time the home side suffered the goal of Thomas Spinell in powerplay with a shot just beyond the blue line. But Fassa still believed it. Diomete hit the post, the fourth of the Falcons. When were missing 95 seconds from the end of the third time Rothstein scored 3: 4 but not enough for to tie the game. The Renon overcome a proud Fassa for 4: 3 as they led the Alps Hockey League with five points more of Jesenice. For the Fassa it was the eleventh defeat in the last twelve games.
 
HC Gherdeina valgardena.it - EC Bregenzerwald 4:3 (1:1; 1:1; 2:1)
The "Furies" definitely led to attack but to score the first goal they have to wait for the first penalty of the match. Christian Haidinger was penalized for two minutes and Gherdeina scored in powerplay with Benjamin Kostner after seven minutes. But Georg Waldhauser was  lucky when he scored a draw after 16 minutes. Both teams went to the first break in a tie (1:1). During the second drittel the game was characterized by a very physical and also a little messy play. Both teams didn’t have clear ideas and couldn’t score. Gherdeina again took the lead with Radek Deyl in powerplay (36). But as in the first half Georg Waldhauser equalized the result, scoring again with much luck. In the third time the history of the game was repeated. Joel Brugnoli made the third score for the home team and still the Austrian team who equalized for the third time with Jurgen Fussenegger in powerplay. But the hosts didn’t not give up. When five minutes were left at the end of the match, Andreas Vinatzer's goal was absolutely important in the economy of the match. This time the last goal og Gherdeina will no longer be recovered from the ECB. The Gherdeina won 4:3 as they earned the third consecutive victory that was worth the 13th place.
