Poland opened the scoring in a balanced first period, with Dominik Pas finding the net in the 15th minute. Italy looked to respond but came under pressure again just before the break. The game picked up pace in the second frame: Daniel Mantenuto (HCB Südtirol Alperia) tied things up in the 23rd minute, before Phil Pietroniro fired home a beauty on the power play to give Italy the lead. In the final period, Marco Zanetti made it 3-1 off a setup from Trivellato. Daniel Tedesco sealed the deal with a penalty shot just 41 seconds before the final buzzer.

Next challenge: Italy faces Great Britain tomorrow in a top clash (Tuesday, 11:30 AM, live on Rai Sport). Both teams are battling for promotion to the Top Division.
