EK Die Zeller Eisbären are currently second in the table, three points behind leader Ritten and five points ahead of third-placed SIJ Acroni Jesenice. The Slovenians were already in action this week on Tuesday and lost 2:3 in Sisak, one of two defeats in their last three games. Before that, Jesenice celebrated nine wins in a row. Zell am See won two out of three games last week. The “Polar Bears” won 4:1 against Jesenice in the first duel of the season, followed by a 2:4 defeat.

Fourth-placed Adler Stadtwerke Kitzbühel can clinch a play-off spot with a win against the Hockey Unterland Cavaliers. The Tyroleans currently have an eight-point lead over sixth-placed Sterzing and an eleven-point lead over seventh-placed Sisak. To secure a place in the top five on Thursday, the “Eagles” need one point more than Sterzing and two points more than Sisak. However, Kitzbühel's success against Unterland is not a foregone conclusion. The South Tyroleans have won both of their duels so far this season (5:2, 4:3). However, the ninth-placed team's current form is not great, with three defeats in a row. Kitzbühel recently suffered a 5:6 home defeat against Sisak and have been beaten in three of their last four games.

The Wipptal Broncos Weihenstephan will host the Red Bull Hockey Juniors on Thursday. While the Juniors were already in action this week on Tuesday and narrowly lost 1:2 at home to Celje, the Broncos prevailed 6:4 against Bregenzerwald in front of their home crowd in their last outing last Thursday. It was the second win in a row for the sixth-placed team in the table. The Juniors are tenth in the table and have suffered two home defeats against Sterzing so far this season (2:7, 2:3/OT).

In the fourth game of the day, KHL Sisak will face HK RST Pellet Celje. After five defeats in a row, the Croatians have recently found their stride again and have won two games in a row. Celje are also showing a clear improvement after a long bad period and have won two of their last three games after nine defeats in a row. The league newcomers from Sisak, who have won both of their matches against Celje so far this season, are in seventh place in the table, while Celje currently occupy the tenth place.
