HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice remains unbeaten in home games in the current postseason. The Slovenians prevailed 4-1 on Tuesday night to capture their first match puck for the title on Thursday. The hosts came out strong right from the start of the fifth final game: Joonas Larinmaa needed just 65 seconds to put his team in front. The Slovenians provided much more danger in the first period than the guests from Cortina. This was also reflected on the scoreboard: Eric Pance made it 2:0 in the seventh minute. In the middle period, Jesenice increased the lead to 3:0 in the powerplay, before Cortina added to the tally for the first time with Giacomo Lacedelli scoring. In the final period Erik Svetina ensured the decision and the result of 4:1.

On Thursday, the "best-of-seven" final series moves to Cortina for the last time. There Jesenice has the chance to become the champion of the Alps Hockey League for the first time. If Cortina can continue the home run of the final series, it will come to the all-decisive seventh game in Jesenice on Saturday, April 22.
