Jesenice celebrates shootout win over Meran

In the only Friday matchup of the Alps Hockey League, HDD Jesenice edged out HC Meran/o Pircher in a close contest. The Slovenians came back twice from behind and ultimately prevailed 4–3 in the shootout.

Jesenice had the better start to what was an evenly balanced game for long stretches, taking the lead in the 14th minute through Sodja Zalokar on the power play. The visitors, who had won their previous two games, turned the tables in the middle frame with goals from Cruseman and Trivellato. The final period brought plenty of action, as fans witnessed three goals within just four minutes. First, Hrobat Plemelj leveled it at 2–2, but Meran quickly answered through Claesson to restore their lead. Jenko then tied the game once again at 3–3, sending it to overtime.

After a scoreless extra session, Svetina decided the thrilling duel in the shootout in favor of the home side. With the extra point, Jesenice climbed to eleventh place, while Meran moved up to ninth.
