The expectations of the home team and their fans were high in the fourth game of quarterfinals but after only 83 seconds Jesenice opened the scoring. Zan Jezovsek's early goal threw over the game plan of EHC coach Gerald Ressmann. However, the Austrias fought hard and generated some good chances. The next goal was scored by Jesenice, though. Late in the first Jaka Ankerst doubled the lead. The visitors had the better of the play in the middle frame, too. Despite being one man down, the Slovenes added a third by Eric Pance. Lustenau never gave up but suffered another setback after 27 minutes when Pance scored his second of the night, this time on a penalty shot. The visitors had a comfortable 4:0 lead after 40 minutes. Lustenau took some penalties in the third with Jesenice running down the clock. With five minutes to go Ressmann riked everything and pulled goalie Patrick Machreich for a 6 on 4 situation. The home side was not able to get on the scoreboard while Sebastijan Hadzic finished off the scoring with an empty netter. Zan Us celebrated a shutout in a 5:0 road win, the next stop for them are semifinals where the Slovenes will face Asiago.
