Jesenice enters top-6 | Fassa and Asiago after overtime wins in lurking position

Jesenice celebrated a big win against the EHC Lustenau and climbed into the top-6. Asiago and the Fassa Falcons booked overtime wins and brought themselves into the lurking position. S.G. Cortina Hafro made a big step towards early playoff qualification.

Jesenice replaces Lustenau in top-6
The HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice made the next step towards early playoff qualification. With the eights consecutive win the Slovenians jumped into the top-6- Jesenice celebrated a 6:1 success against another top-6 aspirant, the EHC Lustenau who dropped to the ninths place. The Slovenians paved the way already in the first period with a triple-pack. Jesenice increased the lead to 6:0 after 40 minutes. Lustenau managed to score the consolation goals in the final period and created the result of 1:6. For Lustenau it was already the sixths consecutive defeat.
Rittner Buam defend second place
The Rittner Buam celebrated a 4:2 success over the Vienna Capitals Silver. The Buam started with high pressure and created a 2:0 lead in the first period. Ritten increased the lead in the second before the Silver Caps scored narrowed the gaps to 2:3 till early in the third. The Buam kept their nerves and found the decision in the 48th minute.
Broncos celebrate shutout win
The Wipptal Broncos Weihenstephan celebrated a 4:0 success against the EC Stadtwerke Kitzbühel and keep their theoretical chances for the top-6. The Broncos had a little bit more of the game in the first period and managed to created the 1:0 lead. After that the fans had to wait 35 minutes for the next goal. But then it was not only one goal but three for the hosts for the result of 4:0.
Zell turn game against neighbor in standings
The EK Zeller Eisbären won the game against neighbor in standings HC Gherdeina in overtime and doubled the advantage to HC Gherdeina in standings. Gherdeina acted much more efficiently in the first two periods and created a 2:0 lead till the 32nd minute. The Eisbären started their race to catch up in the third period and managed to fight in overtime with two goals in the last 10 minutes. The tie of Christoph Herzog was even scored in the last minute before the buzzer. Philip Putnik finally found the decision for the Eisbären in Overtime.
Hard fought three points for Pustertal
The HC Pustertal Wölfe celebrated a tough fought win against the EC Bregenzerwald. After an opening period with no goals Pustertal took the lead in the second period with a double strike within 90 seconds. Bregenzerwald had the answer at the end of the second and beginning of the third and tied the game. But Pustertal had the better finish – John Lewis scored the game winner four and a half minutes before the end.
Feldkirch capture one point against leader
The VEU Feldkirch captured one point against leader HK SZ Olimpija Ljubljana. The Slovenians already secured the first place after regular season phase one and are in preparation mode for the masterround already. In the first period it seemed that the Slovenians will book the victory of favorites as they controlled the game and created a 3:0 lead. Feldkirch managed to narrow the gap in the second period to 1:3. In the final period the hosts continued their race to catch up and managed to tie the game with two goals within the past 10 minutes. Zan Jezovsek found the decision for Ljubljana in overtime. This was the 12th consecutive win for the leader.
Falcons celebrate overtime win in battle for playoffs

The Fassa Falcons booked an overtime win against the EC KAC 2 and is still in the lurking position for the top-6. The KAC 2 had the better start into the game and captured the lead in the fifths minute. But the Falcons stroke back with two goals in the first period. KAC tied in the second before “Dr J” Joseph Mizzi brought his team in front again. But the Austrians didn’t give up and managed to tie the game. Markus Pirmann scored the equalizer, the assist came from 15 year old debutant Marco Kasper. In the overtime it was again Mizzi who found the decision. After these two points the Falcons are trailing by one point to sixth placed Jesenice.
Big step towards Playoffs for Cortina
S.G. Cortina Hafro celebrated a clear 7:1 win over the Steel Wings Linz and made a big step towards playoff qualification. Cortina had full control right from the beginning creating a 5:0 lead in the first period. Cortina shifted one gear down and finally booked a 7:1 win. The advantage to the dangerous seventh placed team increased to four points.
Asiago dreht Spiel gegen Salzburg
The Red Bull Hockey Juniors had to take a bitter defeat against Migross Supermercati Asiago Hockey. Asiago turned the game in the last minutes and captured two points. After an opening period with no goals the Juniors created a two goals lead in the second period. When everybody already thought, that Red Bull Hockey Juniors will capture the three points, Asiago scored two goals in the final three minutes and fought in overtime, where Marek Vankus found the decision for Asiago.
