Master Round:
Jesenice ousts Ritten from top spot
HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice recorded their first win in the third game of the Master Round and climbed back to the top of the table. After losses to S.G. Cortina Hafro and the Hockey Unterland Cavaliers, the Slovenians downed the Rittner Buam 1-0 on Saturday. After a scoreless first period in Jesenice, Zan Jezovsek gave his team the lead in the middle period in Powerplay. The Rittner Buam increased the pressure in the final period, but could not overcome Jesenice goalkeeper Antti Karjalainen on this evening. With this success, the Slovenians were able to overcome the Rittner Buam by one point.
Red Bull Hockey Juniors win again against Cavaliers
The Red Bull Hockey Juniors struck for the second time in three days against the Unterland Cavaliers. After the 3:2 victory on Thursday, the Salzburgers followed up with a 5:3 win away from home. Especially Oskar Maier knew how to shine on this evening and recorded a 4-point game with two goals and two assists. However, Unterland initially took the lead twice in the first period before Salzburg turned things around in a strong middle third. In the standings, Salzburg could now leave the Cavaliers behind. The gap to league leader Jesenice is also now only two points.
Qualification Round A:
Eisbären extend lead in the standings
EK Die Zeller Eisbären extended their lead in the standings with their second win in the third game of Qualification Round A. Already in the first period, the guests from Vorarlberg demonstrated their superiority: Two of the 22 shots in total in the first period found their way into the goal. Lustenau remained oppressively superior throughout the entire match and finally celebrated a 4:0 victory. For keeper Erik Rickard Hanses this was already the fourth shutout this season.
