In the first of only two Alps Hockey League games this week, HDD Jesenice celebrated a clear 6–0 home victory against EC Bregenzerwald. For last season’s finalist, it was their first game in Qualification Round B, while Bregenzerwald suffered their second defeat in as many matches. As a result, the team from Vorarlberg, who had started the group as leaders with three bonus points, slipped to the bottom of the standings and would currently miss out on the Pre-Playoffs. The second game of the week will be played on Saturday between Adler Stadtwerke Kitzbühel and the Hockey Unterland Cavaliers.

Jesenice took the lead after just 97 seconds through Nejc Burgar before Žiga Mehle doubled the advantage on the power play in the eighth minute. Only five minutes later, the hosts struck again with the man advantage, once more through Burgar, who completed an early brace. Bregenzerwald took too many penalties overall, and Erik Svetina also scored on the power play to make it 4–0 in the 25th minute. The scoring did not stop there, as Miha Oblak increased the lead to 5–0 at even strength in the 33rd minute. Two minutes before the end, Luc Slivnik sealed the 6–0 final score. For Jesenice goaltender Žan Us, it was his fourth shutout of the season.

With this win, the Slovenians recorded their first victory in Qualification Round B and moved ahead of EC Bregenzerwald in the standings. Jesenice are now in third place. Bregenzerwald, meanwhile, suffered their fourth consecutive defeat and dropped to fourth place, which would currently see them miss out on the Pre-Playoffs.
