HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice is back at the top of the Alps Hockey League table. The 3-1 road win at S.G. Cortina Hafro was Jesenice's fourth win in a row. With the point win in the opener against Merano, the Slovenians are now in first position with 13 points. Cortina had to admit defeat at home for the second time in a row. Almost with the first possession the guests took the lead - Jesperi Viikila scored after only 19 seconds. Eric Pance doubled the lead already in the seventh minute and netted the empty-netter at the end. Cortina managed in the meantime only one goal through Carlo Finucci (40./PP1).
Ritten turns heat up in the last
The Rittner Buam turned a two-goal deficit into a 4-2 home win against the EC-KAC Future Team in the final period. Robert Öhler (45.) rang in the comeback, Lasse Uusivirta (47.) and twice Markus Spinell made the turnaround for the South Tyroleans, which celebrated their fourth win of the season. Klagenfurt lost for the third time in a row.
Chris D'Alvise shines with hat trick
After losing two games recently, EHC Lustenau got back on the winning ways thanks to Chris D'Alvise. The Canadian contributed a hat trick to the 4-3 home win over Migross Supermercati Asiago Hockey. With his goals he first made up for the early lead of the visitors - and in the 29th and 43rd minute the new two-goal deficit. The game-winner was then scored by Philipp Koczera (52.).
First derby win for Zell am See since four years
After more than four years - and seven defeats - EK Die Zeller Eisbären celebrated another derby win against Red Bull Hockey Juniors. The league returnees prevailed 4:3, thus getting their third win in a row in the current championship. In the process, the "Eisbären" first gave away a one-goal and later a two-goal advantage. Finally Jürgen Tschernutter (42.) provided for the decision.
Strong middle third paves the way for Val Gardena's second win of the season
HC Gherdeina valgardena.it claimed their second win of the season away at EC Die Adler Stadtwerke Kitzbühel with a 5-3 victory. Hannu Järvenpää's team managed to get only the third win in the eleventh duel with the Austrians. The decisive factor was the middle period, when first last year's MVP Brad McGowan (22./PP1) equalized and Ville Korhonen (29.) and Nikolas Paratoni (37.) ensured a two-goal lead.
Broncos successful on the road too
The Wipptal Broncos Weihenstephan have claimed their third win of the season at SHC Fassa Falcons - and thus celebrated their tenth win overall against the "Falcons" in the AHL. The current winning streak is now nine victories. Decisive for the success were five strong minutes in the second period: Markus Gander, Niccolai Alessio and Fabian Hackhofer got the interim 5:2 advantage for the "Broncos" in this phase, which was finally sufficient until the end.
