On Thursday, Alps Hockey League leaders HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice have the chance to take revenge for their defeat in the first duel of the season at EK Die Zeller Eisbären. The home-strong EC-KAC Future Team welcomes S.C. Cortina Hafro, while HC Gherdeina valgardena.it wants to extend its winning streak and HC Merano/o Pircher also wants to prolong its series. The EC Die Adler Stadtwerke Kitzbühel is fighting for its first win in Fassa and the Rittner Buam are looking to get back on track against the Wipptal Broncos Weihenstephan.

On Friday, bottom-ranked Vienna Capitals Silver host third-place EHC Lustenau.

A duel between two teams from the top 4 will take place in Slovenia: The leader HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice hosts the fourth EK Die Zeller Eisbären. In the first duel of the season the Austrians won 5:4. Both teams currently have a good form available: while the leader has won its last five games, the league returnee is without loss for three games. In Jesenice, the Salzburg side has yet to win one game (seven defeats). HC Gherdeina valgardena.it currently has the longest winning streak in the Alps Hockey League available: The South Tyroleans have now gone six games without defeat, scoring an average of 4.7 goals more than in the first eleven games of the season. This offensive power has lifted the "Furie" to eighth place in standings. Challengers BEMER VEU Feldkirch, on the other hand, have already gone seven games without win and are second-last. Only 29 goals (16 games) were scored by the Vorarlberg team this season, and only 6.7% of their power plays are successful. VEU is still missing the suspended Alex Caffi. The two teams will meet for the first time this season.

Especially the special teams didn't find the punch yet, both on the powerplay (12.5%) and in penalty killing (66.7%) they need to catch up. This pairing is also taking place for the first time this season.
