The Red Bull Hockey Juniors took the lead on their visit to Lustenau in the fifth minute with a powerplay goal from Vadim Schreiner. The guests then increasingly dominated the game and created good chances, but were repeatedly thwarted by EHC goalie Felix Nußbacher. Salzburg finally added to their tally in the 26th minute when Jesse Helander increased the lead after a pass from Kalle Myllymaa. Lustenau then became more active again, but Juniors goalkeeper Simon Wolf was not beaten - even on a penalty shot in the 32nd minute. At the other end, Paul Vinzens increased the lead to 3:0 in the middle period. However, Lustenau remained dangerous and got on the scoreboard in the 44th minute through Hans Örhvall. The game picked up pace and became tougher. Lustenau tried everything to deny the visitors the three points once again and increased the pressure on the young Salzburg team. The Red Bull Hockey Juniors routinely defended several powerplay opportunities for the Vorarlberg team and Vasily Zelenov restored the three-goal lead while short-handed. However, Lustenau promptly countered through Robin Wüstner (57') and Frederik Jesper Alasaari (58') to make it 3:4. In the last two minutes of the game, Lustenau tried to score the equaliser while playing 6-on-4, but unfortunately hit their own empty goal after a pass to a defender (60'). The Red Bull Hockey Juniors thus won the road game against EHC Lustenau 5:3.
