And the „Red Jackets“ took advantage from the second Power Play of the game: Petersen gave EC-KAC their first lead in the game (46.). The hosts had the upper hand of the game now and have finally earned a clear 7:2-win thanks a strong last period with six goals.

Fri, 26.10.2018: HC Orli Znojmo vs. Fehervar AV19 4:3 (1:1,2:2,1:0)
Neither Znojmo nor Fehervar have been shy at giving up goals in recent weeks, and so it was no surprise that their meeting on Friday night involved lots of them. The visitors had the best chance to go ahead with an early PP, but failed to take advantage. It would eventually be the hosts that broke the deadlock, Petr Mrazek receiving the puck unmarked in the slot and going high over Carruth for 1:0. The Hungarians though levelled the game up shortly before the end of the period, a scramble out in front eventually seeing Csanad Erdely bat the puck in to tie the game at 15:42. In the second period Fehervar had the better start and should have moved ahead but the post and some bad shooting denied them. They did eventually lead however, after a breakaway was saved, Janos Hari was on hand to pick up a lose puck for 2:1 at 24:57. Znojmo came back though, Radim Matus getting the wrong side of Eric Meland to skate down the wing and finish top shelf and tie things with 30:39 gone. The visitors though went back in front however less then four minutes later as Bence Stipsicz's shot from a sharp angle crept through into the net goal. In a real seesaw game it was no surprise that the teams headed into the break, a slapshot from Mrazek as Harri Tikkanen came out of the box tying things again. With Istvan Sofron sitting a double minor, and then Tomotej Sille also in the box, the home side had the ideal chance to take the lead in the final period. And they did, with 8:56 to day as Cameron Braes netted his first of the season with what would be the game winner. Despite pulling the goalie at the end, Fehervar failed to generate any real opportunities and went down 4:3.

Fri, 26.10.2018: HCB Südtirol Alperia vs. EC Panaceo VSV 2:1 (1:0,0:1,1:0)
HCB Südtirol Alperia had a perfect start into their home-game against EC Panaceo VSV. Marco Insam netted the lead after just 71 seconds. The Eagles stayed unimpressed and responded applying pressure on their opponent, but HCB goalie Leland Irving stopped all 17 shots in period 1. Villach was more active in period 2 as well (6:10-shots) and was finally rewared for their effort in minute 33 with the 1:1 potted by Alderson. A chippy game was finally decided by a Power Play goal scored by topscorer Blunden in minute 58. Bozen has also announced the signing of defenseman Jordan Rowley.
