After their opening win against the Rouen Dragons, EC-KAC suffered their second consecutive loss in the Champions Hockey League. HC Fribourg-Gottéron got off to a flying start, scoring just 69 seconds into the game, leaving the "Rotjacken" trailing 0-1. By the end of the first 14 minutes, the visitors had already extended their lead to 3-0. Klagenfurt never managed to get back into the game and ultimately lost 4-0.

Hydro Fehérvár AV19 played their first competitive game on Thursday evening in the brand-new Alba Arena in Székesfehérvár. Despite the dominance of Swedish top team Färjestad Karlstad, Hydro Fehérvár AV19, led by a strong performance from goaltender Dominik Horváth, managed to keep a clean sheet for two periods. However, early in the final period, the Swedes struck twice in quick succession. Although Christopher Brown scored to pull one back, Färjestad secured a 3-1 win. Fehérvár remains winless in this year's Champions Hockey League campaign.

In addition to the two CHL teams, Migross Supermercati Asiago Hockey was also in action on Thursday night. In a preseason game against HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice, the North Italians celebrated a 7-2 victory. It was their fourth win in five preseason games.
