Two days after their loss to Swedish side Brynäs, KAC returned to winning ways in the CHL. Although the hosts from Odense had the better start, the first period ended goalless. After the restart, new signing Mario Kempe and Maximilian Preiml scored within a few minutes for a 2-0 lead. The Danes pulled one back, but Kempe quickly restored the two-goal advantage. The game heated up in the final period, with game misconducts handed out on both sides. After Odense closed the gap again, Luka Gomboc made it 4-2. In the closing stages, Nick Petersen and David Waschnig each scored on the empty net, sealing a 6-3 triumph for the KAC.

EC Red Bull Salzburg fell 3-2 on the road against KalPa Kuopio and remain without points after two games in Finland. Lucas Thaler opened the scoring early for Salzburg, but the Finns quickly turned the game around in the first period. With six skaters on the ice late in the game, Dennis Robertson managed to pull one back for Salzburg. However, they could not equalize against the strong Finnish side.

Both Austrian ICE representatives now stand at two wins and two losses after four CHL games each. The final two games of the regular season will be played in October.
