Currently third in the table, the EC-KAC (4 wins, 2 losses) will face the Moser Medical Graz99ers, currently second in the standings, on Friday. With four wins from four games, the Styrians have had the best start to a season in their club's history. Both clubs have been continuously represented in the win2day ICE Hockey League since the league was founded in 2000. Of the 146 duels to date, the Red Jackets have won a whopping 97, with the Styrians coming out on top 49 times. In the recent past, the pendulum has mostly swung in Klagenfurt's favour: The EC-KAC won eight of the last nine head-to-head confrontations, conceding only a total of just 13 goals in the process. On home ice, the red and white team's record is even more impressive: In 75 home games against the 99ers in league history, the Carinthians have gained points 59 times; most recently, the EC-KAC won five in a row against Graz in front of their own crowd.

Apart from Graz, league leaders HCB Südtirol Alperia are the only team in the league that have maximum points. The team from Bolzano has thus equalled its previous best start from the 2013/14 and 2022/23 seasons. Should the Foxes also win their next game against Asiago and pick up another three points, they would set a new club record for "perfect games" at the start of a camapign. Asiago have just one point to their name after four games, most recently suffering a clear 8:2 defeat in Linz. The teams have already faced each other once in the preseason, with Asiago winning 4:3.

The third unbeaten team of the season is Olimpija Ljubljana. The Slovenians have won all four games so far with a goal difference. Now a road trip awaits the "green dragons". On Friday, Olimpija visits Innsbruck, where they celebrated two victories last season. The Tyroleans won two out of four games and now have their sights set on a third home win. Ljubljana continue their road trip in Feldkirch on Saturday.

After three home wins, EC Red Bull Salzburg will play their second away game of the still young regular season on Friday at the Pioneers Vorarlberg. The team from Feldkirch have won their only home game so far, but have lost their first two away games. The Pioneers have hosted the reigning champions four times in the last two years, with an even 2:2 record.

The programme for Pustertal and Linz includes a landmark encounter. Both teams have one win and three points after five games. The Upper Austrians only managed to break free on Tuesday with an 8:2 win over Asiago. The South Tyroleans were in action in Salzburg on Wednesday - after a good performance for long stretches, they let the game slip away in the final ten minutes and lost 3:7. Pustertal have won four of their six home games against Linz so far.

"Bring Your Heroes" premiere on Friday in Vienna
The anniversary season of the win2day ICE Hockey League is all about heroes. As a special highlight of this campaign, the league and the participating teams, supported by title sponsor win2day, have decided to give something back to their loyal fans and have launched the "Bring Your Heroes Game Days".

To kick off this special campaign, the spusu Vienna Capitals are inviting fans to their game against Hydro Fehérvár AV19 at the STEFFL Arena on Friday. Vienna season ticket holders have two reasons to be happy: they will receive not just one, but two free tickets for their heroes to enjoy the exciting atmosphere of the game together.

Excitement is guaranteed in any case, as both Vienna and table neighbours Fehérvár are currently on six points. The last four head-to-head meetings in the STEFFL Arena have always been decided by just one goal difference, with the Hungarians coming out on top three times.
