The EC KAC II and the Wipptal Broncos Weihenstphan delivered the surprises in the Thursday games and ended their losing streaks. Both teams won against higher ranked teams. The Rittner Buam captured the second place in standings after winning against HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice. The Red Bull Hockey Juniors celebrated the nix blowout win.
Fassa wins afternoon game against Vienna
The SHC Fassa Falcons won the afternoon game in Alps Hockey against the spusu Vienna Capitals Silver. The SHC Fassa Falcons started with high intensity into the game and built a 2:0 lead after the first 20 minutes. The Silver Caps managed to narrow the gap in the second period before Fassa recreated the two goals lead. After Fassa scored the 4:1 in the final period, the Silver Caps started a race to catch up and brought themselves with 3:4 back into the game. The Silver Caps had the right answer and scored two more goals for the result of 6:4. This was the third consecutive win for the Falcons.
Next blowout-win of Salzburg
The Red Bull Hockey Juniors booked the third blowout win against an Austrian team in the last seven days. After a 15:1 win against Bregenzerwald and a 8:0 against the EC KACII the Juniors celebrated a 11:0 against the Steel Wings Linz.
KAC ends losing streak
The EC-KAC booked the big surprise against a top-6 team. The Austrians celebrated a 3:2 success against Gherdeina, wo captured the lead twice in this game. The KAC II tied twice, before Markus Pirmann brought the decision a bit more than two minutes before the end.
Bcorncos with the surprise against Cortina
The Wipptal Sterzing Broncos booked the second surprise of this evening. After five consecutive defeats Sterzing celebrated a 3:0 win against Cortina. After an opening period with no goals, the home team succeeded with the double strike in the second. Cortina didn’t find the way back into the game and had to take a 0:3 defeat.
Feldkirch wins Austrian clash
The VEU Feldkirch confirmed their role of favorites against the Kitzbühler Adler. The VEU captured the quick lead but received the equalizer in the second. Feldkirch hat the right answers and created a 3:1 lead still in the second. Kitzbühel managed to narrow the gap in the final period but couldn’t force the overtime anymore.
Rittner Buam captures second place
The Rittner Buam booked a 4:1 win against HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice. After the opening goal of the Buam the fans had to wait quite a long time for the next goal. In the third period the away fans celebrated first because of the equalizer. But the Buam scored three more time to create the 4:1 win.
