KAC is back on the top after a round full of goals

EC-KAC is back on the top of the League. The Red Jackets have beaten HC TWK Innsbruck „Die Haie“ (5:1) on Sunday. Besides, EC Red Bull Salzburg, HC Orli Znojmo, spusu Vienna Capitals, EHC LIWEST Black Wings Linz and Dornbirn Bulldogs have earned wins in a round full of goals (49) on first Advent.

Info: The EISNER Auto Young Star Vote of the month November 2018 has started today. Nominated are Nico Feldner (RBS), Felix Maxa (VSV), Moritz Matzka (BWL), Donat Szita (AVS) and Daniel Wachter (HCI). The vote is online on www.erstebankliga.at until Wednesday, December 5th 2018 (24:00) and is done by fans (1/3), Nationalteam Coach (1/3) and www.servushockeynight.com EBEL experts.

EC Red Bull Salzburg had a perfect start into their home-game against Fehervar AV19 on Sunday. Harris netted the 1:0 after just 66 seconds. Each teams searched their luck in the offense then (13:11 shots in period one) and the guests responded soon with a goal scored by Koskiranta (7.). But, the guests took a penalty and were suddenly punished by the Mozart Citizens: Regner scored the 2:1 from the left circle. The Red Bulls were on fire now and added three more goals by Baltram (11.), Huber (13.) and Heinrich (18./pp) in the following eight minutes! Heinrich has scored the 100th goal of the season for EC Red Bull Salzburg. The Red Bulls have been the chief on the ice in period 2. Winkler (24.) and Van De Velde (25.) extended the lead within 85 seconds – 7:1. The Hungarians showed character in period 3 and were rewarded with two goals from Sille and Meland. In minute 59, Heinrich scored the final 8:3.

The two teams faced each other on eye-level in period 1 (9:8-shots), but the goalies Robin Rahm and Tomas Halasz allowed no goals. The break-through has finally come in minute 24. Marek Kalus netted the 1:0 from the middle distance and has added two more goals from nearly the same position in minute 32 and 34 – 3:0.  On the other side, goalie Halasz has been on fire, he stopped all 17 shots from the Styrians in period 2. The 99ers were finally rewarded for their effort in period 3. Zusevics netted the 1:3 in minute 43. The 99ers were on fire then, but the Czechs scored the next goal: Luciani gave his team a 3-goal-lead with an empty net goal (57.). The 99ers did not give up, but the could score just two more goals from Oberkofler (58./pp, 59.).

EHC LIWEST Black Wings Linz and HCB Südtirol Alperia had a game on eye-level. But, the Austrians were more efficiency and got a 3:0-lead thanks goals from Lebler (11.). Brucker (18.) and Kristler (28./pp). Bozen did not give up and responded with a Power Play goal from Marco Insam (34.). Then, the game went up and down. Finally, Schofield netted the 4:1 in a Power Play (56.) and fixed the fifth straight win for his team. Bozen has been defeated in six consecutive matches now.

The goalies Lars Haugen und Rene Swette allowed no goals in period 1. In period 2 the Special Units made the difference for EC-KAC: Liivik (24.) shorthanded and Wahl with two Power Play goals (30, 32.) gave Klagenfurt a 3:0-lead. Petersen has finally decided the game with the 4:0 in minute 50. The Tyroleans tried to come back in period 3, but the could score just one goal by Lavoie in a Power Play. On the other side, Matt Neal has even added the 5:1 in a Power Play. Klagenfurt is back on the top of the League.

spusu Vienna Capitals were the chief on the ice in Villach in period 1. Alex Wall netted the 1:0 in minute 5. The game got more intense in period 2. The Capitals scored twice in Power Play and got a 3:0-lead thanks the Power Play goals from Tessier (25.) and DeSousa (27.) within just 117 seconds. The Carithians did not give up and got a Power Play on their own, which Fraser used for the 1:3 (30.). The Caps responded quickly with a Power Play goal from Holzapfel – 4:1. Schneider has even added the 5:1 (39.). Period 3 was full of goals too, each team has scored twice. So, the Caps won 7:3 and ended their bad road-run.

Dornbirn Bulldogs had a perfect start into their home-game against KHL Medvescak Zagreb. Reid (5.) and Parks (7.) gave their team a 2:0-lead within 127 seconds. But, the Croatians stayed unimpressed and applied pressure on their opponent. The guests were quickly rewarded and turned the game with goals from Svensson (10.), Sylvestre (11., 13./pp) within just 148 seconds. The Bears took a penalty and were punished quickly: O’Donnell netted the 3:3 from the reight circle. In period 2, the guests took four penalties and this made the difference. The hosts took more and more the controll of the game and got a 5:3-lead thanks Power Play goals from O’Donnell (27./pp) and Dupant (33./pp). Period 3 started perfect for the guests: Sylvestre has quickly scored the 4:5. But, then the Dornbirn Bulldogs have defendend their lead until the end, Timmins has even added the 6:4 into the empty net.
