KAC wins series with next road victory
As in the fourth duel, VSV got off to a lightning start in Friday's home derby, with Felix Maxa putting the hosts in front after 107 seconds. It became again an even game with chances on both sides. For the home side, goalkeeper Alexander Schmidt was able to distinguish himself and keep a clean sheet in the first period. After the restart, both teams again went at a high pace, but initially there were hardly any clear scoring chances. In the 30th minute, the KAC had its first power play, but Villach forward Tomazevic had the best chance - he failed against Dahm, who did another great job this evening. Shortly after the expiration of another penalty time against the Blue-Whites, Klagenfurt scored the equalizer, thanks to a goal by Jensen Aabo. The home side were unimpressed and went ahead again just a minute later: Rebernig hit the crossbar, then a Viveiros shot found its way over the line - 2:1 after 40 minutes. In the third period, the visitors increasingly took control of the game. After they struck metalwork twice, it was Lucas Lessio who scored free from the slot in the 52nd minute to send the game into overtime. In the extra session, VSV failed to capitalize on a power play, and in the 68th minute Marcel Witting on the other side decided the game and thus the series.

Capitals secure match pucks

Thanks to a clear 4:1 away win at the HC TIWAG Innsbruck - Die Haie, the spusu Vienna Capitals are on the verge of entering the semifinals. In the "best-of-7" series they are now in the lead with 3:2. On Sunday at 17:30, live on PULS 24, there is the first chance for the Viennese to make the series win perfect. In the fifth game of the series, it was already the fifth away win. Chad Krys put the Capitals on the winning track in the eleventh minute. Jan Lattner equalized an even game in the 25th minute. After that, however, the guests set the tone. Max Zimmer made it 2:1 in the 29th minute, before James Sheppard (44.) and Matt Bradley (48.) made everything clear in the final period. The Sharks are still waiting for their first home win in the playoffs since March 16th, 2018.

Clear victory for Bolzano

After a clear 5:1 away win in Linz on Tuesday, the HCB Südtirol Alperia followed up with a 7:1 home win on Friday to secure two match pucks. The winner of the Regular Season already made everything clear in the first period, led by goals of Angelo Miceli (8.), Mitch Hults (11./PP1), and two goals of Luca Frigo already with 4:0. In the middle period Frigo even added a third goal. For the forward it was the first hat trick this season. Brad McClure was the second goal scorer for the Foxes in the middle period. In the final 20 minutes, the home side took some of the pace out of the game. Mike Halmo increased the lead to 7:0 in the 51st minute and Graham Knott scored the consolation goal for the Steinbach Black Wings Linz 31 seconds before the end of the game in the powerplay. For the Upper Austrians, it's all about the early end of the season on Sunday in front of the home crowd. The game starts at 17:30 and can be seen live at www.live.ice.hockey.
