The EC-KAC also won its third game at the BEMER Pioneers Vorarlberg and thus prevailed 4:2 in the “best-of-7” series. The visitors had a dream start in another sold-out Vorarlberghalle. The KAC was 2:0 ahead after just 163 seconds. Nick Petersen made it 1:0 before Finn van Ee increased the lead to 2:0 with his second goal of the series. However, the Pioneers responded promptly. Regular Season MVP Steven Owre reduced the deficit to 1:2 in the seventh minute in the power play, the first powerplay goal for the best powerplay unit of the Regular Season in the quarterfinals. In the second period, the KAC were finally able to set the course for victory. Paul Postma scored in the 22nd minute to make it 3:1. This score remained until the 46th minute, when Nick Petersen completed his brace and scored the preliminary decision. It was the Canadian's first goals of the 2024 postseason, with Manuel Ganahl scoring the final goal with an empty-net goal with just under four minutes remaining. The EC-KAC will start the "best-of-7" semifinal series with a home game next Tuesday.

Pustertal forces decider
Klagenfurt's opponent has not yet been determined, however, as the HC Pustertal forced Hydro Fehérvár AV19 into a decider. The 4:2 home win in game six was the sixth home win in the current series. In the meantime, Pustertal had already a 3:0 lead thanks to a brace from former Fehervar forward Alex Petan and a goal from Arvin Atwal. However, the visitors from Hungary closed the gap to 2:3 and clearly set the tone before Markus Phillips was sent to the penalty box for hooking three and a half minutes before the end of the game. Pustertal promptly took advantage of the powerplay and made the final score through Rick Schofield. The deciding game for the last semifinal ticket will take place on Saturday at 17:30 in Székesfehérvár. PULS 24 will broadcast the game from 17:05 in a worldwide available livestream on puls24.at/eishockey and joyn.at.
