KAC remain unbeaten | Salzburg secure first win

The KAC continue to set the pace this season. Against a depleted Graz side, the unbeaten league leaders had some problems only in the opening stages. Paul Stapelfeldt put the 99ers ahead after just 34 seconds, but Klagenfurt turned the game around by the 14th minute. By the end of the second period, the hosts had already built a 6–2 lead. Nick Petersen was the only player to score twice. There was no further scoring in the final period, meaning the KAC remain top of the standings with 15 points and already have an eight-point lead over defending champions Graz, who sit in fifth place.

Salzburg secure first win of the season
The 10-time champions Salzburg finally secured their first win of the season in their fifth game. For Budapest, it was their second defeat in three games, allowing the Red Bulls to move above the Hungarians in the standings and into 12th place. FTC started the game strongly, taking the lead twice at 1–0 and 2–1. However, Salzburg took control in the second period and went into the final 20 minutes with a 4–2 lead. The hosts managed to pull one back, but two empty-net goals late in the game sealed a 6–3 road win for Salzburg.

Bolzano edge Innsbruck in Tirol Derby
In a thrilling Tirol derby, Bolzano secured a 4–3 road win in Innsbruck. Brad McClure opened the scoring after just 39 seconds before Turner Elson doubled the lead in the fifth minute. Innsbruck responded impressively, however, and levelled the game before the end of the opening period. Bolzano then took control again, scoring twice more to build a 4–2 lead by the 54th minute. Innsbruck pulled one back late on, but Bolzano held on for a 4–3 win — their third victory in four games this season. Innsbruck, meanwhile, suffered their third defeat.

Pustertal claim narrow home win
Nine goals were scored in the clash between Pustertal and Linz. In the end, it was the home fans who had more to celebrate as Pustertal secured a 5–4 victory. The Black Wings stayed in the game for a long time and still led 2–1 after 40 minutes. However, last season´s runners-up turned the game around in the final period: Rueschhoff and Fontaine each scored once, while Fitzgerald added two goals to complete the comeback and secure the narrow home win for Pustertal.

Ljubljana and Fehérvár come out on top
Ljubljana defeated VSV 6–2 to claim their first win after two consecutive defeats. The Slovenian side moved up to fourth place in the standings, while VSV dropped to 10th. The visitors from Villach found themselves chasing the game early on and managed to level the score through John Hughes in the 31st minute. However, the Dragons pulled away and led 4–1 by the end of the second period before eventually securing a comfortable victory.

In the sixth game of the day, Fehérvár claimed a narrow 3–2 road win over the Pioneers. The Vorarlberg side remain the only team without a point, while the Hungarians secured their first regulation-time win of the season. Justin MacPherson scored the game-winner in the 36th minute. The Pioneers had previously taken the lead twice, going 1–0 and 2–1 ahead, but Fehérvár ultimately completed the comeback.
