The EC-KAC will take part in the Champions Hockey League next season. The league leader beat Hydro Fehérvár 5:2 in the top-of-the-table game to take an eleven-point lead over the Hungarians and a 16 points over the EC Red Bull Salzburg. This means that the KAC can no longer be displaced from the Top-2 in the table. Against Fehérvár, the home side quickly trailed 0:1 in a sold-out Heidi Horten-Arena. It was Fehérvár's first ever lead against the KAC this season. However, the league leader turned up the heat in the second period, equalizing after just 36 seconds to make it 1:1, only to fall behind again just four and a half minutes later. Nevertheless, the KAC went into the second period break with a 3:2 lead. Jan Mursak equalized first to make it 2:2 and also scored the 3:2 lead. The KAC added two more goals in the final period. Thus, Klagenfurt also won the fourth season duel with Fehérvár.

Bolzano turns around crazy South Tyrol derby

The HCB Südtirol Alperia won a spectacular and crazy South Tyrolean derby at the HC Pustertal with 5:4/OT. After 21 minutes, Bolzano was still trailing 0:4. Pustertal had a perfect start in the sold-out Intercable Arena and led 3:0 after just 14 minutes. Right at the start of the middle period, the team in eighth place in the table, which is still just two points behind the top six, even increased the lead to 4:0. The score remained at that level until the 37th minute, when the visitors scored for the first time. In the final period, only Bolzano played and finally equalized with eight and a half minutes to go. In the overtime, Pustertal started with an powerplay, but was unable to score the decision and so it actually came to a complete turnaround by Bolzano, which scored the game-winner in the 65th minute through Joshua Teves. It was the second win for HCB in the fourth season duel. Last year's finalist remain in fourth place in the table, but are only two points ahead of the seventh place.

Pioneers are in the Pre-Playoffs

Despite a 2:5 defeat of the BEMER Pioneers Vorarlberg at the Steinbach Black Wings Linz, the Vorarlberg team is in the Pre-Playoffs for the first time. The Pioneers benefited from a 3-0 defeat of the spusu Vienna Capitals at HK SZ Olimpija, with the Capitals conceding all their goals in the eight minutes of the game. Vienna thus misses out on the postseason for the first time in 19 consecutive playoff appearances. At the Black Wings, PIV even had a 1:0 and 2:1 lead in the meantime. The game was tied 2:2 after 40 minutes, but the home side had a perfect start in the final period, scoring three times in four-and-a-half minutes. It was the Black Wings' second win of the season against the Pioneers. The Upper Austrians remain in fifth place in the table, but are closely followed by Villach and Innsbruck.

Villach turns the game around in Asiago
The EC iDM Wärmepumpen VSV was in action at Migross Supermercati Asiago Hockey and turned a 1:2 after 40 minutes into a 4:2 away win. VSV new signing Maxime Golod scored in his first match. With 71 points, the Carinthians are one point behind the Black Wings and have the same number of points as seventh-placed HC TIWAG Innsbruck. The Tyroleans celebrated an unchallenged 4:1 home win against bottom of the table Moser Medical Graz99ers. Senna Peeters made it clear early on with a brace. It was the first win for the HCI after two defeats in a row.
