Regular Season champion EC-KAC had no problems against semifinal debutants HC Pustertal in the first game. They clearly won 7:1 in a sold-out Heidi Horten Arena. Lukas Haudum dominated the game in the first period. The forward scored twice and thus got on the scoreboard for the first time since February 2. Pustertal was the opponent then too. Klagenfurt added three more goals in the second period. Niki Kraus (28.), Johannes Bischofberger (30.) and Steven Strong (34.) scored. The visitors made life even more difficult for themselves in the final minutes of the third period. Ryan Stanton was given a game-misconduct penalty for a check to the head and Arvin Atwal was also sent to the penalty box for ten minutes. Klagenfurt started the final period with a powerplay and promptly scored to make it 6:0, with Bischofberger scoring again. Raphael Herburger scored the KAC's seventh goal. Sebastian Dahm in goal for the Regular Season champion was denied a shutout as David Morley scored the consolation goal with just under seven minutes remaining. Game two of the "best-of-7" series will take place on Friday in the already sold-out Intercable Arena in Bruneck. PULS 24 will broadcast the game live from 19:05.

Shutout victory for Bolzano
The HCB Südtirol Alperia started the semifinal series against the EC Red Bull Salzburg with an away win. For the first time, the two teams do not face each other in the finals. Last season, Salzburg celebrated a 4:3 series win. The other two final series were also only decided in the deciding game, both times in favor of the South Tyroleans. On Tuesday, HCB head coach Glen Hanlon celebrated his 100th win in the 152nd win2day ICE Hockey League game. Connor Ford put the visitors ahead in the powerplay in the seventh minute. Dustin Gazley scored the second goal 16 seconds before the end of the second period. The home side had numerous chances to score throughout the game. In the end, the Red Bulls clearly had the upper hand in shots on goal with 45:22, but HCB goalie Sam Harvey saved all of them and celebrated his third shutout of the season. The series continues on Friday at 19:45 in the Sparkasse Arena in Bolzano.
