KAC ties final series

The EC-KAC celebrated a 1:0 home win in the second game of the final series. Stefan Geier scored the only goal of the game. The Carinthians tied the series., game three will take place on Thursday in Vienna.

 The EC-KAC started very active into the game and pressured the defensive formation of the Caps a lot. The home team had to powerplays in the first period but couldn’t capitalize. The longer the game the more chances the Capitals created. The goalies on both sides shined with big saves. In the 18th minute Adam Comrie took a shot from the blue line after a bully. Stefan Geier had the perfect position and deflected the puck for the 1:0. With that result the game went into the first break. The spusu Vienna Capitals started strong in the second period. But Lars Haugen proved his reactions and kept his sheet clean. Both teams had chances in powerplay but couldn’t score. Nic Peterson had a good chance at a breakaway but was stopped by stick on the ice. The period ended with no goals. In the final period the fans saw a tough playoff fight. The Caps had a slightly plus in chances but still didn’t manage to overcome an outstanding Lars Haugen. Both teams created chances. The KAC did a good job in defending the lead. In the final minute J.P Lamoureux made space for another field player for a final offense. But Haugen and a solid KAC defense didn’t give the game away in the final seconds. With the result of 1:0 the Carinthians managed to tie the series.
