EC-KAC has been in top form in October, winning all six games so far this month – each by a one-goal margin. In the 2:1 shootout win in Fehérvár, goaltender Florian Vorauer impressed with 33 saves, while Jordan Murray scored both in regulation and the shootout. Despite their third consecutive road win, Klagenfurt currently ranks seventh in the standings but already holds the league’s fourth-best points-per-game average (1.91). Only eight of their 21 points have come at home. On Sunday, they host Olimpija Ljubljana in the ORF Sport+ live game. The Slovenians started the 2025/26 season spectacularly, winning nine of their twelve games so far. Ljubljana’s offensive unit has been on fire, averaging 5.17 goals per game. Their attack is led by league-leading scorers T.J. Brennan (23 points) and Nicolai Meyer (24 points). A major factor in their success has been the powerplay, which currently operates at a 33.3% success rate and has scored at least two man-advantage goals in half of their games. Klagenfurt has won the last three direct encounters.

A true top clash is also set in Salzburg: EC Red Bull Salzburg hosts table-topping HC Falkensteiner Pustertal. The reigning champion moved up to fourth place after two straight wins and celebrated its biggest victory of the season on Friday with a 7:2 triumph over Budapest. Things are going even better for Pustertal, which took over the top spot following their overtime win against Villach. The team from Bruneck has won six of its last seven games and three of the last four meetings with Salzburg – three of them were decided by just one goal.

HCB Südtirol Alperia improved to third place after two wins, scoring seven goals and conceding just one. With only 22 goals against, HCB currently holds the best defensive record in the win2day ICE Hockey League. They now travel to Budapest for the first time, where FTC-Telekom will look to bounce back after two losses. Budapest has won three of its five home games so far, while Bolzano has impressed on the road with four victories in five attempts. In their first matchup, the Foxes celebrated a 2:0 shutout.

Moser Medical Graz99ers have parted ways with head coach Harry Lange with immediate effect following their overtime defeat in Linz. Sporting director and U20 national team head coach Philipp Pinter will serve as interim coach. The 40-year-old Carinthian already led Saturday’s practice and will be behind the bench for Sunday’s home game against Pioneers Vorarlberg. For the guests, it’s the second game within 24 hours – they visit Vienna on Saturday. Graz has won the last five direct matchups with the Pioneers, including the first meeting of this season.

Both Steinbach Black Wings Linz and Hydro Fehérvár AV19 had to into overtime on Friday. The Upper Austrians snapped their losing streak with an OT win against Graz, while the Hungarians fell short in a shootout against Klagenfurt. All seven of Linz’s points so far have come at home. Fehérvár won the first duel of the season 1:0 and has also prevailed in the last three head-to-head games.
