The EC-KAC is looking for a chance for revenge in the duel against EC Red Bull Salzburg. Last season, the KAC were only beaten in the deciding game in a dramatic final series. In the opening game of the new season on Friday, Klagenfurt will have the opportunity to get a revanche in front of their home crowd. They will face the Red Bulls in the PULS 24 live game and for KAC Head Coach Kirk Furey, the encounters with Salzburg now almost have the character of a derby.

“For me, Salzburg is a special opponent and the game against them is more or less a derby that has developed over the years because we play each other so often and they are two teams that are very successful every year,” says KAC Head Coach Kirk Furey, who is already looking forward to the season opener against the nine-time champions of the win2day ICE Hockey League from Salzburg. PULS24 and JOYN will broadcast the final rematch live and exclusively on Friday from 7:05 pm (available worldwide).

In addition to the games against Salzburg, Furey is looking forward to the local derbies against Villach and the encounters with Vienna with particular anticipation. The 48-year-old is also enthusiastic about the development of the league in recent years, which he believes has been positively influenced in particular by the increasing internationality: “When you bring other teams into the league, that's good. It's good for the development of the players and for the marketing of the league. You get a bigger fan base and it makes the game more entertaining because you have to adapt to different styles of play.”
