The members of the EC Die Adler Stadtwerke Kitzbühel met on Friday evening for the general assembly - of course in compliance with the required distance rules. The lively participation showed how hot the Adler family is on the ice again. Among the visitors were, for example, Mayor Klaus Winkler, President of the Tourism Association Signe Reisch, chairperson of the mountain railway Anton Bodner, Dieter Toth from the travel agency Eurotours, as well as the skiing legends and loyal hockey fans Hias Leitner and Rudi Sailer.

In Kitzbühel they are already working intensively on the squad: "Our sports director Michael Widmoser and head coach Charles Franzen have already started to create the new profile of the team. This year's budget had to be revised downwards due to Corona, but we have already been able to sign some players," said Volker Zeh and announced that goalkeeper Dominik Frank and top scorer Philip Putnik from Zell am See signed at Kitzbühel. The contracts with Christopher Feix, Niclas Maurer, Fritz Schröder, Willi Schröder and - as already communicated in April - Patrick Bolterle were extended. The goal for the season is, of to reach the playoffs in the 2020/2021 season.

David Morgenbesser (Vice President and Head of Marketing) and Jörg Kickenweitz (Head of Organisation) were elected as new members of the EC Kitzbühel Board of Directors during the General Meeting.

David Morgenbesser is 39 years young and a native of Hesse. The long-time professional in the acquisition of TV sports rights has been acting as "Head of Sports Rights and Content Distribution" at Servus TV since November 2019. Prior to this, he spent eight years at Sky as "Director Sports Rights and Commercialisation", responsible for the acquisition and sale of sports content. After his election, the new Vice President and Marketing Director of EC Kitzbühel said: "The Kitzbüheler Adler are one of the most traditional ice hockey clubs in Austria. Therefore, I was very pleased when I was asked to fill the position of Vice President. The club has a very solid foundation and the challenge for the future will be to maintain a balance between sporting success and economic risk. I am convinced that we will succeed in doing this in the board of directors and that history in ice hockey sports can continue to be written in Kitzbühel".

Jörg Kickenweitz was born in Styria and has been working in Kitzbühel since 2014. Initially as assistant to the board and management and then as marketing manager of KitzSki (Kitzbühel cable car), before he moved to the Kitzbühel public utilities company as economic manager in October 2019. "In order to be successful, every club needs a broad base that lives and breathes the sport. The spectacle on the ice is provided by our professionals and the strong youngsters. But in the background, every little cog counts, no matter how small, that keeps the gears turning. Only together can we support our active athletes and inspire the fans and spectators," says Jörg Kickenweitz, the Adler's new organisation manager.

Volker Zeh thanked the retiring board members Martin Hechenberger, Heinrich Mauracher and Johann Spieglmayr for their years of sacrificial work for Kitzbühel's ice hockey sport and made them honorary members and Johann Spieglmayr (note: Volker Zeh's predecessor) honorary president.
