Klagenfurt gets big home win against Vienna

On Friday, new second-placed EC-KAC - 8:2 against Vienna - and third-placed HC Bolzano earned home wins with Thomas Hundertpfund resp. Sebastien Sylvestre scoring hat tricks. While HC Orli Znojmo won thanks to a last-minute goal, the Liwest Black Wings Linz got the only road win.

Hundertpfund and Sylvestre score hat trick
The Capitals came out hard into their first game after the international break. They took the lead twice in the opening period but Thomas Hundertpfund equalized it both. Early in the second the hosts turned the game around and after 40 minutes they were 4:3 up. Two shorthanded goals led them to winning ways with Hundertpfund celebrating his hat trick. In the final minutes Klagenfurt added 2 more power play goals.

In Bolzano Sebastien Sylvestre was the hero. He found the bakc of the net for the first period's lone goal. In the second Bolzano added two more but lat ein the period also Fehervar got on the scoreboard. With the Hungarians pulling one back it was a one-goal game but then Sylvestre made it safe for the hosts.

Last-minute win for Znojmo, Linz successful on the road
HC Orli Znojmo scored two early goals in their home game against Dornbirn, in the middle frame new arrival ROb Flick added a third. However, Dornbirn came back with scoring two until the second intermission. In a final push they even equalized but with 52 seconds to go Adam Sedlák fired the puck home again for a home win.

Despite Innsbruck having a 1:0 lead after the first in their home game against Linz, the Upper Austrians turned it around in the second. The Tirolese kept fighting and Ondrej Sedivy tied it at three. In the end it was a deflection by Marek Kalus, who decided the game late.
