KSV Highlanders celebrate clear win – Salzburg victorious in Graz

Two games were played in the win2day Austrian Women’s Hockey League on Saturday, which also counted towards the European Women’s Hockey League standings. The KSV Highlanders cruised to a convincing home win against the VSV Lady Hawks, while the DEC Salzburg Eagles earned a narrow road victory over the Graz99ers Huskies.

KSV Highlanders – VSV Lady Hawks 5:0
The Highlanders dominated from start to finish and secured the win early on. Goals from Gentilini, Dijkema, and Dauböck in the opening period set the tone for a commanding performance. Confidenti and Kantorova added two more tallies to complete the 5-0 shutout.

Kapfenberg impressed both offensively and defensively, outshooting their opponents 52–24 and keeping a clean sheet. With this victory, the Highlanders solidified fifth place in the EWHL standings and moved closer to league leaders Sabres St. Pölten in the AWHL table.

Graz99ers Huskies – DEC Salzburg Eagles 1:2
In Graz, the 99ers Huskies and DEC Salzburg Eagles battled through a tight and physical matchup. The visitors built an early lead with two first-period goals, while the Huskies responded in the middle frame through Rothenwald to make it a one-goal game.

Despite late pressure from the home team, the Eagles held firm to secure three important points on the road, improving their position in both the EWHL and AWHL standings.
