In the only Friday matchup, the visitors took the lead in the 11th minute through Kelsey Soccio. In an otherwise evenly matched contest, Sara Bayne tied the game in the second period. Early in the third, Alina Hinum restored the lead for the Carinthians at 2-1. Despite clear dominance by the visitors in that frame, Bayne equalized again for Salzburg. In overtime, Hinum scored her second of the night to seal the victory. Head coach Günther Ropatsch’s team thus also won the season’s second meeting between the two sides.

In the win2day Women’s Austrian Hockey League table, the Lakers Kärnten, still in fifth place, reduced their gap to the Eagles to one point. They also moved up to eighth place in the European Women’s Hockey League.
