League Holds Three-Day Medical Meeting in Bolzano

This past weekend, the annual medical conference of the win2day ICE Hockey League and Alps Hockey League took place in Bolzano. During the meeting, doctors gathered for three days to exchange ideas, learn from each other, and further improve medical care in ice hockey.

Key topics included the revision of the Medical Handbook, the development of a Rescue and Ice Emergency Action Plan, as well as practical training for player rescue on the ice. HCB captain Daniel Frank was available for the practical part. The aim was and continues to be to continuously increase player safety and to guarantee a well-coordinated, well-trained medical team.



League Doctor Dr. Christiane Loinig-Velik: “Medical care in ice hockey is very important—there are always tragic incidents that we want to prevent as best as possible. We are trying to further improve player safety and to continuously enhance ourselves through shared exchange.”

Dr. Christian Thuile, Team Doctor HCB Südtirol Alperia: “A well-coordinated team is only possible through practice, exchange, and experience—that is exactly what this meeting is for. We also organize on-ice training so that we can guarantee the safety of the players during matches.”
