Alps Hockey League leader SIJ Acroni Jesenice beat HC Meran/o Pircher 3:1 in the only Friday game, giving the Slovenians a three-point lead over their closest rivals Zell am See in the table.

The visitors from South Tyrol first took the lead through Pascal Brunner (12.). However, the home side turned the game on its side with a brace within 21 seconds in the 30th minute. A few seconds before the end of the second period, the 2023 AHL champions even increased the lead to 3:1, with Nejc Brus, David Baloh and Ziga Urukalo scoring. No further goals were scored after that, meaning Jesenice celebrated their eighth win in a row, while Merano suffered their fifth defeat in a row. In the first duel of the season, the leaders of the standings had the upper hand against the eighth-placed team with 9:0.
