League leader KHL Sisak could not be beaten by third-placed SIJ Acroni Jesenice. In front of 1,432 enthusiastic fans, the Croatians narrowly won 3:2 after a shootout and celebrated their ninth win of the season in their eleventh game. Things did not look good for a long time against the third-placed team from Slovenia. An early double put the visitors 2:0 ahead after just five minutes. The score remained at this level until the 49th minute, when the hosts scored for the first time. Sisak finally managed to equalize through Karlo Marinkovic four and a half minutes before the end. It was also the 20-year-old forward who scored the decisive penalty in the shootout to give Sisak their sixth win in a row. They remain unbeaten in front of their home crowd, but lost their first point. Jesenice conceded one of two defeats from their last five games. Jesenice narrowly held the upper hand in the previous two season duels, once in the league and once in the Continental Cup.

Important win for Sterzing in the derby against Val Gardena
The Wipptal Broncos Weihenstephan, who are bottom of the table, managed to get out of their slump in the derby against HC Gherdeina valgardena.it. The team from Sterzing clearly won 8:2 and celebrated their first victory since October 17th and six defeats in a row. Val Gardena suffered their fourth defeat in a row, but are still in tenth place in the table. Player of the match was Luciano Zandegiacomo with two goals and one assist. It was the 20-year-old forward's first brace in the Alps Hockey League. The home side led 3:0 after just 21 minutes, and last year's semi-finalist were comfortably 6:1 in front after two periods. The Broncos scored twice more in the final period. Val Gardena, who had won 3:1 in the first season duel, had no chance this time, but at least managed to score a second goal.

Kitzbühel narrowly loses to Unterland
The Adler Stadtwerke Kitzbühel were narrowly defeated at home by the Hockey Unterland Cavaliers 3:4 and conceded their fifth defeat in a row. In a hard-fought game, the visitors from Neumarkt scored the game-winner through Matthias Bonazzo just four minutes before the end. It was the 19-year-old defenseman's first goal and first point in his thirteenth Alps Hockey League game. Unterland improved to eighth place in the table with their first win after two consecutive defeats. Kitzbühel is still fourth in the table.

Juniors celebrate home win over Bregenzerwald
The Red Bull Hockey Juniors also celebrated a narrow victory in their second home game of the week. After the 2:1/OT victory against Val Gardena on Tuesday, the Salzburg team beat EC Bregenzerwald 3:2 on Thursday. It was the second defeat of the season for the visitors with only one goal difference against the Juniors and the first defeat overall after three wins in a row. The Vorarlberg side conceded the decisive goal eight minutes before the end when Luca Kogler scored his fourth goal of the season to make the final score 3:2. The home side were already 2:0 in front in the meantime, but the visitors came back into the game within six minutes in the final period. In the end, however, seventh-placed Salzburg celebrated their eighth win in their 18th game. Bregenzerwald, who are eleventh in the table, conceded their tenth defeat in their 14th encounter.

Cortina against Merano without any problems
In the fifth and final game of the day, last year's finalist S.G. Cortina Hafro celebrated an unchallenged 6:2 victory against HC Meran/o Pircher. It was the third win in a row for sixth-placed Cortina, while twelfth-placed Merano suffered their fourth defeat in the last five games. The home side took the lead in the fourth minute and Cortina made it 2:0 in the second period before the visitors scored for the first time. But only a short time later, SGC pulled away to 4:1 with a double strike. Among others, Mikael Saha scored his second goal of the game. It was the forward's third brace of the season. Kris Pietroniro made it 5:1 at the start of the final period to make everything clear. Both teams scored once more in the last six minutes of the game.
