Cortina is currently the strongest team in the Alps Hockey League. The AHL runners-up won their last six games and thus improved to fifth place. With 30 goals conceded in 13 games, the Italians currently have the best defence in the league. However, their opponents Celje have also been on a roll. The Slovenians have won three of their last five games, the league newcomers are in twelfth place in the table. One of the hottest duels in the Alps Hockey League is coming up, on All Saints' Day the two teams will meet for the first time this season. The Tyroleans will be looking to make up some ground in the derby, having recently suffered a 0:10 defeat in Cortina. Zell am See remained without a point for the first time this season on Saturday, losing 1:4 in Jesenice. The teams have faced each other 18 times in the AHL, with Zell am See winning eleven times. The Salzburgers are also currently the best road team in the league.

A top match also takes place in Sterzing, where the Broncos meet Jesenice. The South Tyroleans are in fourth place, they are the second best home team in the league. The second-placed Slovenians have not been consistent lately, alternating between wins and losses in the past five games - but on Saturday they won against league leader Zell am See. The reigning AHL champions have won their last three games in Sterzing, and the Slovenians have won seven of overall ten games.

Unterland started perfectly into the championship with three wins. After a few defeats, however, the South Tyroleans recovered and found their way back to success. In the last two rounds they celebrated victories against Jesenice and Sterzing. The Cavaliers are in sixth place in the table with 20 points from 13 games. With a full win, Lustenau could overtake the South Tyroleans. Most recently, the EHC tanked further self-confidence with a 6:4 derby win against EC Bregenzerwald. Last season Unterland won both duels.

The short upward trend of Val Gardena was stopped again with three defeats. The "Furie" is in last place, at home the South Tyroleans have only recorded two points from seven games. Opponents Fassa are on a five-game losing streak, most recently the Falcons were defeated by Ritten. In the first duel of the season, Val Gardena celebrated a 4:3 away win.

Meran suffered two defeats recently. In the last five games of the South Tyroleans, who are in 13th place, at least seven goals were scored. With 61 goals conceded from 13 games, HCM has the weakest defence in the league. The Red Bull Hockey Juniors, on the other hand, presented themselves strongly in the last month - they scored in their last eight games, winning six times. The Salzburgers are in eighth place in the table. The four league duels so far have all gone to the Juniors.

On Friday, EC Bregenzerwald and the KAC Future Team face each other - both teams want to get back on the road to success. Due to two defeats, the Vorarlberg team fell back to seventh place. The Carinthians even had to leave the ice as losers six times in a row, they are in second last place in the table. While Bregenzerwald has been able to convince with five wins from six home games so far, Klagenfurt lost all five away games.
