EC Red Bull Salzburg – HC Falkensteiner Pustertal
After a shootout loss to Villach, Salzburg plays again on home ice on Sunday. With only three rounds to go before the end of the regular season, the Red Bulls sit third and are fighting to hold off chasing Bolzano. Pustertal travel to Salzburg following a 4–2 home win over Fehérvár and boast a similarly strong offense with 149 goals, compared to Salzburg’s 151. The South Tyroleans have shown mixed form in recent weeks, alternating wins and losses, but have won all three meetings with Salzburg this season.

Steinbach Black Wings Linz – Olimpija Ljubljana
Following a successful restart after the Olympic break capped by a shutout win, Linz fell 1–4 at home to Vienna on Friday. With three games remaining, the Upper Austrians aim to secure their place in the top ten and possibly even fight for home advantage in the pre-playoffs. Ljubljana lost Friday’s top encounter at KAC 0–2, slipping to fifth. The Slovenians boast the league’s best offense with 169 goals, led by top scorer Nicolai Meyer (56 points) and defenseman TJ Brennan (50). Olimpija also rank among the league’s best in special teams. In the season series, Ljubljana lead 2–1, with each win coming on home ice.

EC iDM Wärmepumpen VSV – Pioneers Vorarlberg
VSV earned a 4–3 shootout win in Salzburg on Friday, putting themselves in a strong position in the race for the pre-playoffs. After 45 games, the Blue-Whites have collected 60 points and sit eighth. The Pioneers, by contrast, have suffered two defeats since the Olympic break and now embark on their final long away trip of the season. The main goal of the Feldkirch side will be to close out the regular season on a positive note. Each of the three prior matchups between these sides has gone to the home team – Villach won 5–2 at Stadthalle, while the Pioneers took their two home games 5–4 and 4–1.

Moser Medical Graz99ers – EC-KAC
A sold-out Merkur Eisstadion sets the stage for Sunday’s top clash between second and first in the standings. Graz suffered a clear defeat in Bolzano on Friday but remain firmly in second place ahead of Salzburg and HCB. Head coach Dan Lacroix’s team impresses with solid defense and strong special teams. KAC travel to Graz full of confidence: around the Olympic break, the Red Jackets celebrated two shutout home wins (4–0 vs Linz, 2–0 vs Ljubljana) and haven’t conceded in almost 140 minutes of play. Any point would secure Klagenfurt the privilege of “picking” their quarterfinal opponent, while a win – even after overtime or a shootout – would confirm their third consecutive CHL appearance. The Carinthians have been one of the league’s best road teams this season, collecting as many points away as at home. Although the historical record (100 wins in 153 games) clearly favors KAC, the current season series belongs to Graz – all three meetings have ended with a 3–2 road win, twice in overtime.
