Adler Stadtwerke Kitzbühel collected the maximum points from their first two matches and currently sit atop the standings. They also boast the league’s leading scorer, Alexander Maxa, with three goals and two assists. On Saturday, the Tyroleans visit Cortina, where the Italians will play their first home game of the season. Cortina started the new campaign with a shutout win in Merano but suffered a heavy 1-6 defeat in Val Gardena on Thursday. Last season, the eagles won all three meetings with Cortina.

After two away games, KHL Sisak will celebrate their home debut on Saturday. The current second-place team first won in Salzburg after a shootout, then followed up yesterday with a clear 5-0 victory over the Cavaliers – highlighted by a spectacular Michigan goal from Bohdan Panasenko. Their opponent will be EC Bregenzerwald, who open their season on Friday in Jesenice. In the previous campaign, the two sides met five times, with Bregenzerwald taking three wins.

The Wipptal Broncos Weihenstephan also sit on five points from two games, placing them third in the standings. On Thursday, they celebrated an overtime derby victory against Ritten. Next, the Sterzing side take on the reigning champions, EK Zeller Eisbären. The team from Pinzgau started the season with a win over Jesenice and were idle on Thursday. Last season, Zell am See won all seven head-to-head encounters.

The matchup between Gardena and Merano features two teams who celebrated their first victory of the season on Thursday. The sides have met 15 times in the Alps Hockey League, with Merano winning nine of those games – including the last six.

Rittner Buam SkyAlps have picked up four points from their first two games of the campaign. Their next opponent, Unterland Cavaliers, are still searching for their first points after back-to-back defeats. Last season, Ritten won all three meetings between the teams.

HC Asiago and the Red Bull Hockey Juniors are also chasing their first win of the season. Following two losses on the road, league newcomers Asiago will play their home opener. Salzburg, meanwhile, have lost once in a shootout and once in overtime so far.
