League leaders EK Zeller Eisbären have won nine of their last ten games, including a 4:1 victory over Jesenice on Thursday. EC Bregenzerwald failed to score for the third time this season in yesterday's 1-0 defeat in Neumarkt, the team from Vorarlberg is currently in tenth place. Zell am See won the first season meeting 3-0, but the Pinzgau team has only picked up eight points from six road games.

With two defeats in a row, KHL Sisak dropped from first to third place. On Thursday, the Croatians were beaten in Sterzing despite leading 5:2 at one stage. Sisak has the league's best defence available, but thei conceded eleven goals in their last two games. Runners-up Cortina are currently in seventh place, the Italians have the second-weakest offence. Sisak came out on top 8:4 in the first season meeting.

After Unterland conceded four defeats at the start of the season, the team from Neumarkt has steadily improved. The Cavaliers are currently in sixth place, five points behind HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice (fourth place). Unterland has won two of the three AHL duels in Jesenice so far.

The Rittner Buam SkyAlps (fifth place) and HC Meran (tenth place) have each recently celebrated two wins in a row. Ritten's last five home games have alternated between victories and defeats - yesterday saw a clear 7:1 win against Celje. Meran, on the other hand, are the weakest away team in the league, with the Eagles picking up just five points from eight games.

The Red Bull Hockey Juniors and Wipptal Broncos Weihenstephan have a crucial game on the programme. After three recent defeats, the Salzburg side have slipped to eighth place. Sterzing reduced the gap to penultimate-placed Val Gardena to four points with a comeback win against Sisak. The Broncos still need success to catch up with the middle of the table. Sterzing won the first season meeting in overtime.

Celje and Val Gardena are looking to return to winning ways. The Slovenians have recently suffered two defeats, while Val Gardena has been beaten five times in a row. Although the South Tyroleans are in penultimate place, they are only two points behind Celje (ninth place). The Slovenians won the first duel of the season in overtime.

Celje will also face Cortina on Sunday. Just under a month ago, Celje earne da shootout win in Italy.
