After winning the regular season, EK Zell am See started the Master Round with two narrow victories - each with a one-goal difference. After yesterday's success at Ritten, the team of head coach Marcel Rodman continues in Cortina. The Italians managed to qualify directly for the play-offs at the last moment, losing their first game in the top group at Kitzbühel on Thursday. In the three season duels so far, there have always been home victories, Cortina currently leads 2:1.

Ritten took two points from two Master Round games and are currently in third place. Now the reigning AHL champions visit Jesenice, who are in fourth place. This will be the fifth meeting between the teams this season; they have faced each other three times in the league and once in the Continental Cup - Ritten leads 3:1.

Merano and Vipiteno want to extend their series
Merano got off to a perfect start in Qualification Round A with two 3:1 victories. The eagles now face Gardena in a derby. The fury is currently in third place with three points. Merano won the first three matches of the season, with two games decided by just one goal difference.

After two defeats, the Red Bull Hockey Juniors are already under pressure. The Salzburg team now visits Sterzing. The Wipptal Broncos Weihenstephan recently celebrated a shutout against Gardena and are in second place. The South Tyroleans have decided the three season duels in their favour so far.

Three teams with three points in Group B
Celje have managed to surprise in Qualification Round B so far. The Slovenians won each of their first two games with a goal difference and are top of the table. However, their upcoming opponents Bregenzerwald also opened the intermediate round with a win. The team from Vorarlberg won their first two meetings of the season, with Celje coming out on top for the first time at the beginning of January.

Unterland and Sisak, like Bregenzerwald, are currently on three points - but the Cavaliers are the only team to have already played two games. Both the South Tyroleans and the Croatians are now aiming for their first success in the intermediate round. The South Tyroleans have won the three duels so far this season - once after over time and once after shoot-out.
