Release from 04.11.2026
The win2day ICE Hockey League is on break until November 11. For many of the league's players, however, the action continues with their national teams: Austria, Italy, Hungary and Slovenia compete in European Cup of Nations tournaments between November 5 and 8.
Austria in Düsseldorf
Head coach Roger Bader is relying on an experienced roster for the tournament in Düsseldorf: 17 of the 25 players were part of the World Championship in Zurich in May. 20 players come from the win2day ICE Hockey League, with Moser Medical Graz99ers and Steinbach Black Wings Linz providing the largest groups at five players each. Linz defenseman Patrick Söllinger was called up to replace the injured Bernd Wolf. Austria face host Germany, Slovakia and Latvia. The Austrians beat Germany at the last edition of the tournament.
Hungary and Slovenia head to France
In Amiens, Hungary and Slovenia meet right away in Thursday's opener. Hungary head coach Gergely Majoross named 17 players from the league: nine from Hydro Fehérvár AV19 and eight from FTC-Telekom. Slovenia travel to France with a young roster, as head coach Edo Terglav had to replace several injured players on short notice. Seven Olimpija Ljubljana players represent the league. The other opponents are host France and Norway.
Italy with a new head coach
For Italy, it is the first tournament under new head coach Pat Cortina. The 26-man roster includes ten players from the win2day ICE Hockey League: five from HC Falkensteiner Pustertal, three from Milano Hockey Club and two from HCB Südtirol Alperia. Italy face Great Britain, host Poland and Ukraine.
