On Wednesday, a delegation from the bet-at-home ICE Hockey League met with minister of health Rudolf Anschober and representatives of the ministry of social affairs and sports. A further round of talks is already planned for next week, during which detailed solutions will be sought, particularly with regard to possible spectator capacities. In full confidence in the positive basic attitude of the public authorities, the start of the 2020/21 season in the bet-at-home ICE Hockey League was finally confirmed for 25th of September 2020 in a league video conference on Thursday. Furthermore, the transfer stop has been ended with immediate effect.

"Yesterday's meeting confirmed our optimism. With the best possible support of the ministries and public authorities responsible for us, the 2020/21 season is to be realised and a responsible and trend-setting concept in sport for dealing with the coronavirus pandemic is to be implemented. We are all aware that there is a residual risk due to the dynamic developments of the epidemiological situation and that we must react flexibly to possible changes. However, the clear commitment to our sport and the bet-at-home ICE Hockey League is crucial for us to put all our focus on a league start on September 25. We want to move forward and offer our fans a great season despite the Corona-related circumstances," explains league president Jochen Pildner-Steinburg.
