Steinbach Black Wings Linz and spusu Vienna Capitals, the two teams still without points in the bet-at-home ICE Hockey League, will both be looking for their first points of the new season. While the Upper Austrians get three players back, Vienna comes up with two new arrivals. The duel between Linz and HC TIWAG Innsbruck - Die Haie will be broadcast live and exclusively by PULS 24 from 7:30 pm.

After the two clear home victories on the first weekend in the bet-at-home ICE Hockey League, leader EC-KAC now plays away for the first time, stopping by at HC Orli Znojmo. The league returnee took one win (5:4 vs. VIC) from the opening weekend. The two games so far this season with the participation of the Czechs were the highest scoring (9 goals). In the last ten duels between these two teams, the home team has always earned points, nine times three. The last victory of Klagenfurt after 60 minutes at the Czech "Eagles" was almost four years ago (2.11.2017 | 2:3). With Anthony Luciani (3G) on one side and Nick Petersen and Matt Fraser (3G each) on the other, the previous top goal scorers duel each other. Paul Postma is not ready to play for Klagenfurt.

The iClinic Bratislava Capitals are now visiting the Moser Medical Graz99ers after their clear 5:1 victory in Innsbruck on Tuesday. The Slovakians won their last two games, the Styrians - with Michael Boivin returning to the line-up, Daniel Oberkofler and Kilian Rappold missing - only got one point from the two opening games (2:3 OT loss vs. DEC), they are still waiting for their first powerplay goal this season. In the last four duels between these two teams, Bratislava, which has the best ICE assister in Mac-Oliver Roy (4A), won each time.

For the spusu Vienna Capitals a home double is coming up: On Friday Hydro Fehervar AV19 stops by in Kagran, on Saturday HC TIWAG Innsbruck - Die Haie. The Viennese lost both duels, five goals had to be accepted in each case. The current week brought further personnel decisions: Luke Moncada and Anton Karlsson replaced Cliff Pu and Shawn Lalonde. Both newcomers are already in Vienna and should be ready from Friday on. The use of the injured Mario Fischer, Alex Wall and Charles Dodero is still open, David Kickert is probably out. Hydro Fehervar AV19 started the season completely different - with two wins - and the Hungarians still have unfinished business: In last year's quarterfinal series they had to accept a "sweep", scoring only three goals in the four games.

With the duel EC Red Bull Salzburg against Dornbirn Bulldogs there is another quarterfinal rematch on Friday. The six-time champions prevailed 4-2 in the spring, after the Vorarlberg side was already ahead in the series with two wins. The current season has seen both teams win and then lose outright in each case. Salzburg, which can once again rely on Florian Baltram but is still without goalkeeper JP Lamoureux, has not scored a goal in the last four defeats.

With EC GRAND Immo VSV and HC Pustertal Wölfe duel two teams, which won one of their two games on the first ICE weekend. The Carinthians - they have not yet conceded a goal shorthanded this season - beat Linz, the South Tyroleans Bratislava. The duel of these two teams already took place in the preseason, both games won by the "Eagles". On Friday, the convalescent Alexander Schmidt is missing, Kevin Moderer is questionable with a lower body injury.

For the first time since the league was founded, the Steinbach Black Wings Linz have failed to score in their first two games of the season. Dan Ceman's team failed to score against both Salzburg and Villach - the last time this happened to the Linz team was in the 2011 playoff against VSV. The Upper Austrians will have three key players in Stefan Gaffal, Will Pelletier and Josh Roach back to secure their first win of the season. Two road games has Innsbruck next weekend. The game in Linz will be followed by the one in Vienna on Saturday. After the opening victory (vs. HKO), the "Sharks" suffered two defeats recently. The Innsbruck team will be missing Luis Ludin and Alex Dostie - who scored a brace in the opening win - due to injury.

HCB Südtirol Alperia wants to continue its run of success this season on Friday, the "Foxes" won the first two games of the season. With HK SZ Olimpija Ziga Pance and Sebastien Piche return to the Palaonda - in 2014 they won the title with the South Tyroleans. On the opening weekend, the league newcomer managed a win against Graz. Bolzano, which can compete in its entirety, provided the ICE's most efficient power play on the opening weekend.
