Linz and Villach want to get back on the winning ways

On Friday, five games in the bet-at-home ICE Hockey League will be played. The Steinbach Black Wings 1992 and the EC Grand Immo VSV want to counteract their negative trend and get back on track in front of their home crowd. The Dornbirn Bulldogs, where Andrew Yogan will celebrate his debut, want to score against the spusu Vienna Capitals, while the EC Red Bull Salzburg wants to keep its nimbus of invincibility in Innsbruck. The top duel of the 7th round takes place in South Tyrol. The unbeaten fourth placed HCB Südtirol Alperia faces the second-placed Moser Medical Graz99ers.

  • In the Messehalle Dornbirn two last victorious teams meet each other: The Dornbirn Bulldogs won 5:4 after Shootout in Fehérvár, the spusu Vienna Capitals triumphed in Innsbruck with 6:1.
  • DEC has not yet won a single match at home (two defeats) and is currently ranked ninth in the table. Vienna ranks third.
  • The two teams have already played 34 games against each other. VIC won 23 of them - and the last eight in a row. The last victory of DEC was on December 16, 2017 (3:2 OT).
  • At VIC the injured Rafael Rotter is missing, who will probably be absent until the end of the year due to a lower body injury.

  • Sky Sport Austria will broadcast the match between the Steinbach Black Wings 1992 and the iClinic Bratislava Capitals on Friday evening from 7 p.m.
  • For the ICE newcomer it is - after the last match had to be postponed due to a positive Covid-19 test - only the third match of the season. After two clear defeats they recently celebrated a 3:2 victory after Shootout in Innsbruck. With two points, the Slovakians are at the bottom of the table.
  • Opponent BWI ranks eighth. The two victories on the opening weekend were followed by four consecutive defeats after regular playing time.
  • Linz thus had the worst start to the season since the season 2012/13 and the fourth worst since the league was re-established in summer 2000.
  • Sebastien Piché (3A) from the Black Wings played six games for the BRC in the second highest Slovakian level last season. However, he remained without a scorer point.
