Linz completes roster, Klagenfurt makes first new addition

With signing Latvian nationalteam player Andris Dzerins, the Steinbach Black Wings Linz completed their roster for the upcoming season in the bet-at-home ICE Hockey League. Further, EC-KAC hired its first new player in 2021, with Phillip Bruggisser signing a one-year contract at the ICE Champions.

The Steinbach Black Wings Linz have completed their roster for the upcoming season in the bet-at-home ICE Hockey League with Andris Dzerins. The 33-year-old qualified last weekend with the Latvian national team for the Olympic Games in Beijing 2022. Andris Dzerins played at Dinamo Riga for the last three seasons. With a two-year break at Czech first division club HK Hradec Kralove (2016 - 2018), he played a total of ten seasons for the Latvian capital club in the KHL. There he collected 99 points (52G|47) in 397 games. 65 times he wore the national jersey at World Championship.

First new addition for EC-KAC in 2021
The EC-KAC has signed Danish Phillip Bruggisser and strengthened its defense a few days ahead of the season start, as David Fischer suffered a career-ending injury and Paul Postma labors on a lower-body injury. The Dane signed a one-year contract and arrives after three seasons in Germany.

Phillip Bruggisser started his career, like “Rotjacken” goalie Sebastian Dahm, at Rødovre IK before three seasons in Sweden's second and third leagues. In the past three seasons, the now 30-year-old was playinig in the DEL, with Krefeld and Wolfsburg the defender collected no less than 77 points (25G|52A) in 138 league games.
